My Story
I've lived in Florida with my family for 20 years and the Sarasota/Bradenton area for 10 years. I first learned about ISR while researching swimming lessons for my daughter. I was so impressed by what my then 2 year old was learning! In only 6 weeks she was swim-float-swimming across the pool - emerging with confidence and a love for the water that she still enjoys today. When we first moved to this area I was disappointed to learn there were no ISR Instructors nearby.
My Family

At the time, I was working as a Registered Nurse in a local emergency room and saw first hand the tragic outcomes of children who were victims of aquatic accidents. It was then that I decided that our community needed ISR and I began training to become an ISR Instructor. Words cannot describe how lucky I feel to be doing what I do and the personal rewards are tremendous. I am honored to be a part of an organization that is dedicated enriching and saving the lives of children.
All ISR instructors are required to undergo annual testing and re-certification. In addition to being licensed as a registered nurse, I am also certified in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, First Aid and AED. I am beginning my 9th season teaching ISR survival swimming and have taught hundreds of local children self-rescue techniques. I am now proudly qualified as an ISR Master Instructor to train other people to do what I do. It is a dream come true to have a rewarding career that also allows me teach others and introduce this program to other communities around the country AND around the world. I am involved with community programs focusing on child safety and enjoy educating the public about aquatic safety and ISR methodology. I am available to speak and present to local groups, clubs, schools, meetings, etc. Please CONTACT ME if you'd like to arrange a presentation.
